Biography
Ursula Wyss (Dr. rer. oec. and MSc Urban Planning) was a member of the National Council between 1999 and 2013, where she was, among other things, a member of the Commission for the Environment, Spatial Planning and Energy. Later, she was a member of the municipal executive in Bern, where she was responsible for the Directorate of Civil Engineering, Transport, Waste Disposal and Urban Greening. With the “Velo-Offensive” launched in 2014, she put Bern on the path to becoming the cycling capital of Switzerland. She was a board member of the Bern section of the Swiss Transport Club (VCS) for many years. She has been an independent consultant since 2023. «Velowende. Für eine lebendige Stadt» was written together with Patrick Rérat, Christine Lehmann and Michael Liebi and describes what the cities of tomorrow could look like.
