Dominik Mösching, born in Thun in 1983, is a political scientist, cultural sociologist and author. For his doctoral thesis at the University of St. Gallen (Coloniality in Practice, 2019), he examined alternative economic models and power relations in the global coffee trade, conducting research in Colombia and elsewhere. He has published academic papers on sustainability, globalisation and democracy, including Sustainable Entrepreneuring (with Chris Steyaert, 2022) and Attitudes towards Globalisation (2011). He worked as a cultural journalist for many years, writing music and concert reviews, interviews and essayistic travel observations (Shots from the Road, 2010–2011). He has been writing songs in the local dialect since his youth and has toured with various band projects (including Mandant Riskant and Tobin Taxi). Dominik Mösching lives with his family in Bern and works professionally to support organisations through change processes. Enclaves of the New is his first book.
