Biography
Gerlind Martin (lic. phil. I), born in Langnau in 1956, lives and works as a freelance journalist, mediator and gerontologist in Bern. Topics in all three professional fields include people’s everyday lives (journalistic portraits), the ambivalent relationship between adult children and their parents (elder mediation), and the individual and social organisation of age(ing) (gerontology). Although she has been writing for over thirty years, she is co-editing and co-authoring her first book with Regula Zähner in autumn 2024. «Alle Fäden in der Hand – Weben in der Schweiz» portrays 14 weavers and traces the development of this surprisingly lively craft over the last 100 years. Three other journalists and two art historians co-wrote the book, which was photographed by the Bern-based photographer Lisa Schäublin.
