MAHZAD NAJM *1982 grew up in Germany and Switzerland in a Persian family. Migration, belonging and questions of identity shape her literary writing, as do the tensions that arise when social expectations and personal freedom become unbalanced. The impetus for «Einfach Amina» lies in the examination of female realities and structural inequality. Developments such as the withdrawal of women’s rights to education – for example in Afghanistan – are a concrete starting point for her and are reflected into her texts. In her literary works, she is interested in how external restrictions manifest themselves internally in people: in conformity, resistance, closeness and vulnerability. She studied social work and completed courses and further training in psychology and systemic approaches. This knowledge sharpens her eye for inner processes and accompanies her literary writing. «Einfach Amina» is her first novel. Mahzad Najm lives with her family in Kreuzlingen.
