Biography

Roland Merk, born 1966, studied philosophy. He lives as a writer and publicist in Basel and Paris. He met Stéphane Hessel at the Russell Tribunal on Palestine. In addition to essays, his work includes the play on the Middle East conflict Die Vertreibung – Ein dokumentarisches Theaterstück zur Nakba in vier Fragmenten and the poetry collections Wind ohne Namen und Der Lauf der Nacht am helllichten Tag. Most recently, he published the book Arabesques of the Revolution. Angry Days in Tunis, Cairo…
