Biography

Christine Lehmann (Dr. phil.) has been a city councillor in Stuttgart for Bündnis 90/Die Grünen and their cycling expert since 2015. She got into politics in 2015 through her blog “Radfahren in Stuttgart” (Cycling in Stuttgart) (https://dasfahrradblog.blogspot.com/), which has won several awards and deals with all aspects of cycling. In 2019, she negotiated the resolution “Making Stuttgart a Cycling City” with the Cycling Initiative and the political parties. She was born in Geneva. After studying German and art history in Stuttgart, she was an editor at SWR for 25 years. She is also the author of over 30 books of fiction and non-fiction, chairwoman of the Baden-Württemberg Writers’ Association and a member of several literary juries. «Velowende. Für eine lebendige Stadt» was written together with Ursula Wyss, Patrick Rérat and Michael Liebi and describes what the cities of tomorrow could look like.
